Verruca Treatment

Verrutop® is a professional treatment specifically designed for verrucae and warts. Using Nitrizinc Complex® – a combination of nitric acid, organic acids, zinc and copper salts – Verrutop works by dehydrating and breaking down affected verruca tissue. The treated tissue gradually dries and naturally detaches as healthy skin forms underneath.

Verrutop offers an effective alternative to treatments such as cryotherapy, with no freezing and no downtime required following treatment.

Treatment begins with an assessment of the verruca, followed by careful reduction of any overlying hard skin where required. Verrutop is then precisely applied to the affected area. The procedure is quick, generally painless and usually very well tolerated.

Several applications may be required to achieve the best results, depending on the size, age and response of the verruca. Treatment sessions cost £50 and are usually carried out at approximately two-week intervals.

Is Verrutop suitable for me?

Verrutop can be used to treat a range of common and plantar warts, including persistent verrucas that have not responded to other treatments. Suitability will be fully assessed before treatment, taking into account your medical history, the condition of the surrounding skin and the appearance and location of the verruca.

Aftercare

Following treatment, you can usually continue with your normal daily activities straight away.  Appropriate aftercare advice will be provided following your appointment.

Athletes Foot & Fungal Nail Treatment

Treatment of athletes foot and fungal nail conditions following an initial assessment. Prices start from £45.00.

Comprehensive Diabetic Foot Assessment & Management

Maintaining healthy feet greatly reduces the risk of complications associated with diabetes, including poor circulation and reduced sensation. Regular treatment and assessment can help to prevent discomfort, infection, and ulceration.

Standalone comprehensive diabetic foot assessment appointments are priced at £45.00 per visit.

Toenail Reconstruction

If you have a damaged, misshapen or partially missing toenail, ToeFlex nail reconstruction can help restore its natural appearance while protecting the nail as it grows.

ToeFlex is a specialist medical-grade poly-acryl gel hybrid system designed to create a realistic-looking artificial nail over your existing nail. It is flexible, durable and breathable, allowing the natural nail underneath to continue growing.

Who is this treatment suitable for?

Toenail reconstruction may be appropriate if you have:

  • A toenail that has been damaged through injury or trauma
  • A nail that has become distorted following a fungal nail infection (once suitable for reconstruction)
  • A split, cracked or partially missing toenail
  • Nail damage caused by sport or repetitive pressure
  • A toenail that you would simply like to improve the appearance of

Following an assessment, I will advise whether ToeFlex is suitable for your individual nail.

What happens during the appointment?

The affected nail will first be assessed and carefully prepared. Any loose or damaged nail material will be removed where appropriate before the ToeFlex gel is expertly applied and shaped to closely resemble a healthy natural toenail.

Once cured, the reconstructed nail has a natural finish and is comfortable to wear. It is designed to flex naturally with the toe while providing a cosmetic improvement to the nail’s appearance.

Colour gel polish application is also available as an optional extra following completion of your toenail reconstruction.

Benefits of ToeFlex

  • Creates a natural-looking toenail
  • Helps improve confidence when wearing open toe footwear
  • Protects the sensitive nail bed while the natural nail grows
  • Flexible, durable and breathable
  • Suitable for many forms of nail damage following professional assessment

Aftercare

Your reconstructed toenail will gradually grow out with your natural nail and will require periodic maintenance or replacement to maintain its appearance.

You will receive personalised aftercare advice, including how to care for your reconstructed nail and when to return for maintenance appointments. With appropriate care, ToeFlex offers an attractive and practical solution for restoring the appearance of damaged toenails.

ToeFlex Nail Reconstruction Pricing

Reconstruction of one toenail £50.00

Each additional toenail (same appointment) £25.00

Gel polish application (same appointment)  £15.00

About Me

My name is Emma, and I am a registered Foot Health Practitioner offering professional home foot health appointments throughout Southport, Formby, and the surrounding area.

With more than 24 years of experience working across both the NHS and private healthcare sectors, I have developed a strong understanding of the ever growing patient need for accessible and reliable foot health care services.

I take pride in the provision of high quality and personalised treatments to support your foot health, improve comfort, and to help you to remain active and pain-free.

All appointments are carried out in the comfort of your own home, offering a more convenient and flexible option for those who may be experiencing mobility issues, demanding schedules, or difficulty in attending clinic based appointments.

What is the difference between a Foot Health Practitioner and a Podiatrist?

Both Foot Health Practitioners (FHPs) and Podiatrists/Chiropodists are trained to provide routine foot care, including nail cutting, corn and callus treatment, verruca and fungal nail care, diabetic foot checks, and general foot health assessments.

Podiatrists have a higher level of training and specialise in diagnosing and treating more complex foot, ankle, and lower limb conditions. They can also provide orthotics and footwear advice to help prevent and manage ongoing problems.

FHPs usually qualify through diploma training, while Podiatrists complete a degree qualification. Both should be fully insured and registered with their relevant professional bodies to ensure safe and professional care.

Should further specialist assessment or treatment be required to treat a patient, a Foot Health Practitioner will refer your issue on to the relevant clinician (ie: Podiatrist or your registered GP) if you provide your consent for them to do so.

Payment

Payment can be made via cash, contactless card payment or online bank transfer at the time of the appointment.
